Birdie Launch

Now as a side note, this is probably the 12th take I've done for a video for the book, because when I came out this morning to film this, a baby bird fell down onto my roof and rolled into the gutter. So of course, I had to stop what I was doing, and I had to go get a ladder and put it up here, because that injured bird ended up in the gutter.

The only reason I knew it wasn't dead was because its little wing was was quivering, but its wing looked like it was broken and the whole left side of its face had been mauled and its eye wouldn't open.  I thought, oh, that bird is in so much pain. So I got a ladder and I climbed up, and I gave it some energy,  probably for about 20 minutes,
I stopped, to give it a little rest, and then I tried to film another video, but I was too distracted by the bird. So to make a long story short, I sent that bird energy. When I came back after the first energy treatment,  instead of being broken and on its side - it uprighted itself, and it had done it on its own! 

I was so excited and before I knew it, the second time I was working on the birdie, this little birdie peeked up over the edge of the gutter and looked at me!  It's one eye didn't work, but the other eye did, and it got its head turned so it could see me. So I said to the bird, "let's get that eye fixed! We need to make sure that you can see because you're gonna fly again little bird."

Sure enough, by the time I was done, both eyes opened and closed at the same time! And as I was stepping back and trying to decide if I was going to take a break and do another book video, it flew away!

I stepped down from the ladder, and it spread it's wings and flew away. It went right to that big, tall tree in our back yard. I'm hopeful that that's where its nest is, and that I this bird and I will have a wonderful relationship moving forward.

So that's my story from BOOK AND BIRD launch day.
