Functioning in the new normal requires grounding.  You've got to be grounded and fully in your body to be able to effectively manage your energies.

This time we're going to visualize your body as a tree to fully ground with the Mother Earth energy and the Father Sun energies.

Imagine from your hips down you are a tree trunk.  Put your ankles together, your feet together, your knees together creating a tree trunk from your hips down. 

Get your feet in contact with the floor or the ground outside.  Spread out your toes. Feel the ball mounds of your feet. Rock back on your heels to get your weight dispersed. Tuck your pelvis. 

Visualize a tap root growing down from your spine. From your tailbone, those energies go right down through the trunk of your body down into the earth.

Imagine it going into the soil, through the water table, going down into bedrock, and going right down into the center of the Mother Earth. 

Grab that molten lava energy.  Pull it up through your taproot.

Bring in the Yin energy from Mother Earth, and let that come up all the way up through the taproot to the bottom of your feet, up your legs into your hips, and up into your body. 

When that energy gets around your shoulders, the branches start to come out. The trunk continues up past your head with branches extending outwards reaching up to the sun.

Now you can receive the Father Sun energy through the leaves and branches. Gather up that light, those photons, and the magical energy.  Bring it back into your trunk, into your body.

Let that Sun energy mingle with the Earth energy in your heart center. 

Why does grounding matter?

We must ground in this new normal because we are constantly being pulled out of our body by the energies around us: by the 24/7 news trying to get our attention; the social media posts that can be jarring; and with things happening around us that we just don't understand.

The one thing we can understand is our body.  We can manage our energies.

Grounding our energy means we can stay present in the moment, we can be aware of our thoughts, and we can manage our emotions.
